Hair Model

My friend Anna is a hairstylist at Nielsen Sio and needed a hair model for creating an editorial version of a unique braid. Here is what she came up with and check her out at her salon off the 6200 South exit on I-215.

Congrats

My friend Debbie is getting married this Thursday. I'm one of her bridesmaids.

Just for fun

Here is a video I filmed at a duck park. The smaller goat picks a fight with the bigger one. I think they are cute. :p

Amaryllis

My friend Raymond introduced me to growing this beautiful flower bulb. It grows amazingly fast. Here is the progress. This is within about a week timespan. I can't wait for the flower to bloom. Check back to see the progress!

Another recipe

Seared Ahi Tuna and Salad of Mixed Greens with Wasabi Vinaigrette

  • 1 ahi tuna steak, 6 ounces
  • 2 teaspoons five-spice powder, available on spice aisle
  • 1 teaspoon grill seasoning, such as Montreal Steak Seasoning, or salt and coarse pepper
  • Cooking spray or vegetable oil, for brushing the grill pan
  • 5 ounces, half a sack, mixed prewashed baby salad greens
  • 2 radishes, sliced
  • 1/4 European cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon wasabi paste
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons -virgin olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Coat your steak with a combination of five-spice powder and grill seasoning or salt and pepper. Heat a grill pan or griddle over high heat. Spray grill surface or wipe with a thin layer of oil. Add tuna steak to the hot cooking surface and sear tuna 2 minutes on each side. Remove tuna from heat.
Combine greens, radishes and cucumber in a bowl. In a smaller bowl, whisk wasabi, vinegar and soy sauce. Whisk in oil to combine dressing. Drizzle dressing over your salad and toss to coat evenly. Slice tuna on an angle and arrange on the salad.

This recipe is from Rachael Ray and it's pretty tasty. It's not hard to make either. I actually don't like wasabi but surprisingly it goes well in this dressing. If you are not a fan of wasabi like me, I would cut the measurement of the wasabi in half. We used the common cucumber you get in the grocery store but if you are able to find European cucumbers then try that.

Gardening Time!

I started gardening last summer and was able to harvest tomatoes, bell peppers, eggplant, butternut squash and hot peppers. This year I'm starting off with tulips and spinach. They are starting to sprout already! Weeds are also beginning to grow in so I'll have to do some cleaning soon. Gardens require a lot of maintenance but I think it's fun to see the results.

What's your color?

http://www.colorstrology.com/

My friend Leslie told me about this website. I think it's pretty cool. It shows you the color that fits you based on your birthday. My color is a light brown. Brown in general is one of my least favorite colors but I'll go with it. I'll let you know if I feel any different wearing my color. Check yours out!
